These colors don’t run - Pulse Nightclub Shooting

My art piece is made to represent the rainbow flag that became a symbol of strength and resilience after the shooting. This event was made out to be an attack on the LGBTQIA community by the media however they did not hide. While their safe space was no longer safe, other Queer friendly communities opened their spaces up to Orlando. I read that flowers and memorial items were sent from Stonewall in New York City, San Francisco and from outside the countries. This tragic event caused the community to come together and become stronger which is something I wanted to highlight. The rainbow flag was made of imagery related to the shooting in order to take back the power that Mateen attempted to take from them.
