Not Forgotten - Las Vegas Strip Shooting

In my piece, “Not Forgotten,” I wanted to send a message to the survivors and those affected by this tragedy that their stories and their strengths will not be stories that become lost in the sea of catastrophe. Through the collage image I found, I recognized that some people who experienced this may feel fragmented--and I wanted to juxtapose this with the phrase “power to move as one,” in highlighting the strength and courage it takes to work through this trauma.I recall one survivor’s description of her scar as something that made her feel as though she had “changed size, not shape.” Underneath the imagery, I wrote the phrase “Vegas Strong” in remembrance of the community’s movement towards healing.
