Las Vegas Strip Shooting
The biggest thing I learned during the researching of this disaster is that people are strong. When we go through something so terrible most people's reaction is to help others. Some people think of others immediately before themselves, while others begin to help those around them after they have escaped the danger themselves. While there is some permanent damage done to people from trauma like this, most people are able to turn the experience into something to learn from and a source of strength later because they can look back and see what they already survived and it gives them strength moving forward.
Doing the artwork for this piece was hard. Reading all the articles and watching the videos really made the shooting real for me and I felt like I was feeling what the woman was feeling in the photo I used for inspiration. She looks lost and sad all at the same time. Like her life has just shattered into a million pieces.
